Overview

Scuba diving is a way to explore the underwater world in new and different ways. PADI Specialty Diver courses teach you new techniques and give you the tools to enhance your exploration. Specialty dives can count towards your Advanced Open Water certification, completing the specialty courses counts towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.

General Description

AWARE Fish Identification Course

Course description

The PADI Project AWARE Fish Identification Specialty course will give you the basic knowledge of identification for recognizing underwater marine life. The course will help learn main fish families and characteristics, while helping you decipher the species you see all over the world. Once you know what you are looking it diving in new environment becomes a new adventure.

 

What you will learn in the AWARE Fish ID Course

  • What are and how to identify characteristics of local fish families and species
  • Different techniques for surveying fish underwater
  • Organization and dive planning for fish identification dives

This course included two dives where you will look for and identify the fish you see underwater, you will learn
The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.


 

Deep Dive

Course description

Diving deeper, there is something new and exciting about this undersea experience. It could be a shipwreck attracting you below 18 metres/60 feet or a cascading fall with giant fan or sponges. Whatever it is, if you want to dive with confidence down to a depth of 40 metres/130 feet, the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course is for you.

If you’ve earned the PADI Adventure Diver rating or higher, and you’re at least 15 years old, you can enroll in the Deep Diver course.

What you will learn in the Deep Diver Course

The course begins with a review session for special considerations when diving deep, and how important it is to know your personal limits.

 

The course included four deep dives where your instructor will go over:

  • Special equipment for deep diving.
  • Dive planning, buoyancy control and buddy procedures.
  • Understanding  your gas supply will deep diving, dealing with gas narcosis and other safety considerations for deep divers.

 

The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.


 

Enriched air NITROX

 

Course description

Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba course. How come? Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox allows you more no bottom time, especially on repetitive dives. If staying down longer and getting to the second dive sooner sounds appealing, there is no need to hesitate, it´s time to become an enriched air diver.

If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the Enriched Air Diver Specialty course.

Dive Gordo Banks on NITROX! We use Enriched Air NITROX on all dives to Gordo Banks, combine a course with a trip to Gordo Banks and get NITROX certified.

 

What you will learn in the Enriched Air NITROX Course

In this course you will learn the different considerations for diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content. You will learn to calculate new bottom times for diffrent gas mixes and special equipment needed for diving with enriched During review session and open water dives you will learn

  • How to properly manage oxygen exposure.
  • Learn to use an oxygen analyzer to check the content in your scuba tank.
  • Adjusting your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.

 

Digital Underwater Photography

Course description

This is one of the most popular diving specialty courses. With the availability of so many underwater cameras it has become easier and more fun for everont to capture images of the underwater world. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course will teach you the everything you need to know whether you use a point-and-shoot camera or a sophisticated dSLR like the pros.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are elegible to take the Digital Underwater Photographer course.

What you will learn in the Digital Underwater Photography Course

 

With hands on training during two dives you will discover

  • How to pick the right underwater camera for you buddy procedures.
  • The PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine, Adjust) method for better shots
  • Underwater composition and practical photography techniques

The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.


Night Dive

Course Description

Have you ever dreamed of diving just after sunset¬¬? At night the reef is full of mystery as nocturnal critters start to emerge. Even when you have been to the same site time and time before, at night you drop into a new world glowing under the light of your torch. If you´ve ever wondered what happens after dark, the PADI   Night Diver Specialty course is for you.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 12 years old, can enroll in the Night Diver specialty course.

 

What you will learn in the Night Dive Course

Night diving teaches you to pay attention to what you can see in your light’s beam, while learning to control your buoyancy by feel. You will also learn how to stay in contact with your buddy in the dark and attention to details you may overlook during the day. During three night dives, you’ll practice:

  • How to use a dive light handling and night dive communication techniques.
  • Entering and exiting procedures for night dive.
  • Underwater navigating in the dark.
  • Identifying the different animal behaviors at night.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Great buoyancy is a skill for every diver to learn. Buoyancy control helps you glide  effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. Having control over your buoyancy helps you easily observe They more easily aquatic life without disturbing or damaging their surroundings. If you want to improve your buoyancy underwater, the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course will help bring you diving skills to the next level.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 10 years old, are eligible to take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course.

What you will learn in the Peak Performance Buoyancy Course

 

During two scuba dives, you’ll learn how to:

  • Better determine the proper weights you need, as so you’re not too light or too heavy.
  • Streamline your gear, and movements to save energy, use air more efficiently and move more smoothly through the water.
  • Learn hover technique for effortless diving in any position – vertical or horizontal.

Underwater Navigation Course

Course Description

The PADI Underwater Navigation Course with teach you techniques to fine-tune your observation skills and to use your compass more accurately underwater. The course is fun and challenging and teaches you new way to navigate the underwater world.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are eligible to take the Underwater Navigation Course.

What you will learn in the Underwater Navigation Course

You will learn to navigate including using natural clues, bottom composition, current and light, as well as by following compass headings.

 

During three scuba dives, you’ll practice:

  • New ways to estimate distance underwater
  • To navigate using a compass while making at least five turns
  • Finding submerges objects or position from the surface
  • Making underwater maps

The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification
