The Open Water Diver course will provide you with the knowledge and experience you need to dive independently with your dive buddy. For this course we also offer hotel/villa packages.
This is the basic scuba diving course, for those that want to learn how to dive. This course gives you all the necessary knowledge and experience to simply go diving.
Taught at the Manta facility, the course includes: learning the principles of scuba diving that are necessary to plan and execute a dive trip, pool sessions to practice important diving skills and 4 open water dives from a boat at the local dive sites.
The knowledge development will concentrate on the fundamentals of scuba diving, including physical and physiological principles, such as: buoyancy, pressure, depth and breathing compressed air. You will learn about diving equipment and the manner of using it, underwater communication, safety measures and more.
The pool sessions are where you will practice Scuba skills necessary for diving and handling the dive gear in open water.
The four open water dives at the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park are the highlights of the course and will reinforce your knowledge and develop your skills. For each dive, after practicing a set of skills which were learned in the pool, you will have time to explore the dive site. Local Diving & Open Water Diver Course galleries will give a good idea of what you can see during the course dives.
You won’t want to miss this!”
Not sure how to start. family of 5 – all excited but had different levels of nervousness. I have to give both SAM and ALEX incredible KUDOS for dealing with the first day FREAK OUTS from my group! Patience and competene is an understatement. We thoroughly enjoyed our padi open water diver course and will be diving again as a family! I wouldn’t have said that was possible after my first day panic! Really professional staff!
Went on the 2-dive expedition to Pelican Rock and to Neptune’s Finger with 2 divers and 2 snorkelers in our group. The staff and dive masters took very good care of us throughout. Dave was our group’s dive master and he was very knowledgeable and professional, making sure of our safety at all times. He was great at explaining each dive plan and then showing us all the cool critters to see at each site. Pelican Rock was cool and there was so much to see in the first 30′. Rays, goatfish, parrotfish, white-tipped reef shark, octopus, amazingly cool fish, corals and invertebrates. Deepest we went here was ~63 feet. Second dive was at Neptune’s Finger. This site was ridiculously cool…amazing topography and hung out at a vivacious, healthy reef full of all kinds of life. Morays, big scorpion fish, huge schools of fish, countless fan corals. Got as deep as 103 feet! I was also able to rent a GoPro to take photos and video of our dives. At the end, they uploaded the files to a CD that I’m taking home. Videos came out GREAT! This outfit does a wonderful job and they are really professional, helpful, knowledgeable and fun! I highly recommend Manta Scuba and Dave! Tip your dive master well–they work hard making sure everyone has a relaxing good time while keeping everyone safe!
