  MANTA WELCOMES DIVING FAMILIES AND SCUBA KIDS
Manta Scuba offers dive experience and junior scuba training for kids aged 10 through junior certifications up to 15 years old. The dive center in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, has been built to start your family off in the best, most comfortable and safe way possible.

Start with our onsite pool, a unique feature of any dive center in Cabo San Lucas. This allows our staff of PADI Instructors (who are all EFR Care for Children certified Instructors) to introduce your family to diving in a controlled environment, critical to having a safe and fun first experience.

Next we stock children sized wetsuits and hoods as children tend to get cold easier than adults. Manta also has small mouthpieces for our rental regulators, small fins, masks and size XS BCDs to ensure a good fit.

Finally our boats have easy entries and exits appropriate for children. Three of our boats have backward roll entries, all have full ladders and of course our staff can help children out of the BCD and weights in the water to make exits easier.

You may want to consider a private boat for your family, this allows you to call the shots and customize your experience with Manta Scuba for the best day possible.

The staff at Manta Scuba can start your children at PADI Bubblemaker and train them all the way through to Junior Master Scuba Diver, the highest level of certification in recreational scuba diving for young divers.

PADI BUBBLEMAKER - $75

A great place for divers as young as 8 years old to start, this experience takes place in our pool only. The Bubblemaker program is an introduction to basic scuba in shallow water with the empahsis on fun! The Manta pool is 6 feet at its deepest, has a shallow shelf for children, and a window for parents to watch and take pictures.

After parents and kids review the Youth Diving Responsibility and Risks Flipchart with one of our Instructors we are off to the pool. We go over the basics of equipment, breathing, equalizing, finning and then begin to explore underwater.

Manta has toys for the pool, underwater frisbees, toypedos and more. This is a great introduction to breathing underwater for children aged 8 and up. The experience in the water usually lasts about one hour, with a certificate awarded to the new diver by the Manta Staff.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING - $115 US, 2nd Dive on same trip +$35

The PADI DSD experience is suitable for children ages 10 and up. We can customize your Discover Scuba Diving program to your families preferences. We can start in the pool and then head out for one or two open water dives.

After parents and kids review the Youth Diving Responsibility and Risks Flipchart with one of our Instructors we move on to the DSD Flipchart where we discuss; breathing underwater, hand signals, basic dive safety and some elementary dive skills.

We then either head to the pool to practice, or if you prefer, we can start in the shallow waters of the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park. Please contact us for specifics about your families dive plans as different aged children have different restrictions with regards to depths and staff to participant ratios.

Now the adventure really begins! At a maximum 4 participants to one of our PADI Instructors we will explore a shallow site from one of our boats. During your dive you can expect to be making bubbles next to thousands of reef fish, even sea lions, turtles, sea horses and rays. We can even organize a personal underwater photo pro to accompany your family for wonderful memories to share.

If you or your children have tried scuba diving before but don't have a certification you may want to consider PADI Scuba Diver, a two day certification course that will allow your family to participate on shallow dives in the future with the supervision of a PADI Divemaster. Likewise, after completing the DSD experience we can credit your dive towards PADI Scuba Diver certification, which takes about 1 1/2 more days to complete.

PADI JUNIOR DIVING CERTIFICATIONS

Young divers can earn all PADI Junior certifications with Manta Scuba including; Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Advanced, Rescue, certain Specialty Diver certifications and even Master Scuba Diver. What is different in junior courses are; shallower depth limits, the number of students we allow per instructor (as the age of our junior divers decreases, so does the ratio of student to instructor) and how our staff will accommodate the strengths and challenges of each young diver.
